I love Freedom Montessori’s recycling program because it allows me to recycle a lot of household items that the city will not provide curbside pickup for. That alone has doubled the amount I recycle on a regular basis. It is also great that my four year old is learning that we all need to give back to the environment, and something as easy as taking the empty toilet paper roll to school is helping the earth!

I love that at only 4 years old, my daughter will stop me if I put an item that can be recycled into the regular garbage. The education that my daughter is receiving on recycling has made our family more aware and we all are making an extra effort to avoid being wasteful.

I am amazed by the fact that my 3 year old is always pointing out recyclable items and doing everything she can to make our home waste free! It is truly amazing!
(Taylor really does this! She even made us go out and get the blue recycle tub!)

The recycling program at Freedom Montessori has made us more conscious at home
about the food packaging we purchase. Because of the Freedom Recycling Program, my twins, only 3 years old, remind me to recycle.-David M. Norton
I think the recycling program at Freedom Montessori is great because it has made my husband and I consciously think of sending waste free lunches for our daughter every morning, and also about incorporating other waste free tactics in our lives. We use less paper plates, and paper towels at home because of it!

I never gave much thought to recycling before Freedom Montessori began the Go Green project. Now I find myself not only recycling at home, but also caring home recyclable items, like plastic soda bottles, that I use while I’m out. What a difference it has made in the amount of my trash! I never realized how much I was throwing into the landfills that I could have been recycling.

I am so glad to see our young children taking such an interest in saving our environment. If we as adults don’t begin taking better care of our planet, our children will have to pay the price.

Due to the efforts of Freedom Montessori, I was inspired to do my part for a cleaner environment. I now carpool to work every day.

I have always tried to recycle things at home. Recycling in the classroom makes art projects so much easier. Cans and plastics that the children have brought in have been used for containers for markers and crayons. We have a basket on our art shelf for paper scraps. The children can cut, tear, and use for any art project they would like. They also put their finished scraps back in the basket. At a young age, these children are learning how to save our planet. They bring in waste free lunches, and are learning how to recycle plastics, and paper that they may use during their snack time.
It truly is amazing to see young children recycle. The look for the numbers and the triangle on the bottom of things, and know which bin to put it in. They will have this knowledge for the rest of their life, and will be able to use it and share it with others.
